Views International

Views Belgium plans to organise a youth exchange according the « Youth In Action » program during the 2013’s summer. For this exchange, we are looking for two associations motivated to join this project.
The topic will be “the attractiveness”. The initiative of this project is the result of a collective discussing occurred during a previous exchange. The aim is to explore the different faces of the attractiveness according the culture but also according the visual impairment. Aware that this topic is unusual and sensible, we would like to divide the exchange in three harmonizing times:

1. “Express yourself”: In this part, members will be free to expose their point of view and feelings about attractiveness. They will also be allowed to express their expectations and fears about the topic.
2. “Discover”: Time for fun activities to really consider the topic.
3. “Conclude”: Time to put in common and discussing about lived experiences.

Practical details

Groups

Groups must contain five people. Two of them must be able to guide. People must be between eighteen and twenty-five years old with a possibility that one of them is between twenty-five and thirty years old.

Roles inside the groups are:

• 1 group leader
• 1 guide
• 3 participants

Language

The language of the exchange will be French. We ask to all implied members to be able to understand and interact in this language during the exchange. In regards of the topic, it will be hard to translate activities. So, we would like that every group sends a members list that respect this criteria.

Groups selection

Four groups will participate to this project. The Belgian one is the host, so it is included to the exchange. The Réunion team is already retained for the project. This choice is an answer to the July 2012’s exchange which was done on the Island. We would like to fortify our relationship with the VEAND association which as welcomed us.

One place among the two left will be given in priority to effective members of Views International network.

Except Views Belgium and La Réunion team, the selection of the two remaining countries will be based of an application. This document will justify the participation of a country and will regroup the following information:

• A list of five French speaking people (please precise the level of knowing)
• Topics and activities related to the project theme that members would like to explore during the exchange (the motivation of the team will be evaluated according the completion of this section)
• The expectations and fears of the group related to the project theme

These different items constitute selection criterion for participating associations.

In despite that the language exchange is only the French, applying documents can be written in English.
Organisators will choose the participating associations according the explained criterion.
