Views Italia (www.viewsitalia.com), a stable informal group of people with visually impairment working to increase the european mobility of people with visual impairment, is helping "atleticacastelfidardo", (www.atleticacastelfidardo.it) an italian sportive company which is working to have an integrated setting to people with and without disability, to trin themselves for different sports (football, swimming, athletics, wooden balls ). The youth exchange will take place in Italy, probably from the 9th to the 16th September 2013. The exchange will be organized by "associazione atletica castelfidardo", a sportive association which works with disabled and non disabled people in the Marche region in Italy. Its mission is that each of us is a unique person, with special possibilities, and each person should be active, so that the society can change its attitude towards disabled people. Views Italia is helping this association expecially to adapt activities to visual impaired participants. It will be a multilateral youth exchange, with 4 partners (Italy and 3 more countries). At the moment, we already have a partnership with an estonian association, working with visual impairment and and hungarian association dealing with sport and visual impairment which is member of VIEWS International. We got the contacts of the estonian association through a salto trainer in Vienna. So, we are still looking for another partner! GROUP COMPOSITION Each national group should be composed as follows: - 1 group leader - 2 participants with visual impairment - 2 participants with mobility difficulties (also willchair) - 4 participants without special needs. The participants, according to the youth in action programme, must be between 18 and 25 years old. It's possible that up to two participants per Country have between 26 and 30 years old. THEMES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT: Keywords of the exchange are: accessible sport, nature, active citizenship, overcoming prejudices. We believe that active citizenship is not a theory, but it's in everyday life. It expresses when people do activities together, and try to improve their everyday life. With this exchange we hope to: - discourage prejudice towards people with disability - let people with disability express themselves in various way - encourage local community to understand educative values of sport - encourage people to pay attention on "architectural barriers" and to take initiative to solve the problems related with this topic. The Marche region offers a special environment, with a particular landscape, presenting seaside and mountains. With the exchange there will be the possibility to reflect upon how a person with disability can be active in this particular geographical environment. We will reflect upon it during some excursion, through practical activities where we will need to rach a specific point, and overcome, all together, the different difficulties that people with disability can face. This project allows us to produce a final document, with our feelings but also with some positive solution we found to reach our common goal. The local area offers as well the possibility to visit local productors, and also to discover nature and to reflect upon how each of us can contribute to a better future for the world respecting nature. About sport, we would like to set up accessible activities for visually impaired, but also for people with mobility problems (willchair etc), or, at least, to discover together some possibilities to make possible doing some sports without barriers, sport for everybody! After that, we would like to do a final event, involving the local community, so that people are aware of the possibilities that a person with disability has in his/her social life. To set it up in a good way, I would like to receive a motivation letter, from one person responsible for your association, with your motivation in taking part to this project, describing also your experience and the help you could give in the project with your expertise, some activity proposals. Each partner should also have a contact with an association which is working with people with phisical disability, so that later on it could be easier to find participants with the above characteristics. This letter must be sent as attach, before the 25th January 2012 to giulia.pagoni@gmail.com and info@viewsitalia.com. We will let you know by email about our decision at the end of February, so that later on we will begin to set up the exchange. We already found a lodging place, accessible for people also who are in whilchairs. If you need more information don't exitate to write to me! Best wishes, Giulia Pagoni
